A series of meetings were held with representatives of fishing communities, fisheries department and district officials in the Cuddalore and Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry. The objective of the meetings was to share findings of FERAL's researh in the area, to try and build a consensus on the major challenges in fisheries resources management and explore management actions which could be taken by the community and government in the immidiate and near future.
