with the press, which took over a year to resolve. Modifications suggested by the fabricators did not
This document is a compilation of work done by various individuals working on a series of projects in the Kalivelli region. These include scientists and field staff who have worked in FERAL over the past decade and a half, all of whose names cannot be listed out. Among the major contributors to this are (in no particular order) Srinivas.V., Dr.Rauf Ali, Dr.Neil Pelkey, Anupama Pai, Sivarajan, Dhandapani, Benjamin Larroquette, Gopinath Srikandane, Gaspard Appavou, Saravanan, Kumaran K, Rajendran K, Sapna Anne, Mahesh and Sohan Shetty.
Over-land flow and sediment transport models provide a useful set of tools for predicting flow paths and simulation erosion and deposition. We use the r.sim.water and r.sim.sediment modules built into the GRASS GIS package in combination with predicted extreme rainfall events for the Western Ghats to develop a vulnerability layer for the region. Extreme rainfall events in this region are occurring more frequently and predictions are that variability of these events is likely to intensify.
