Abstract:
The final report of the UNDP supported Post Tsunami Environment Initiative project is online. The project was part of the United Nations Team for Tsunami Recovery Support, based in Chennai and FERAL was involved in implementing two components of the same, namely:
- To conduct a broad scale assessment of the environmental impacts of the tsunami using GIS and remote sensing and
- To build strategies for restoration of mangroves and other native coastal habitats through pilotemonstration sites.
