Abstract:
This booklet series, published in February 2007 introduces the concepts of maps and GIS. The series present a brief history of mapping, introduction to field survey methods and GIS. The booklets accompany GIS workshops targeted at high school students. This series was produced as part of the NCSTC (DST) supported project entitled "Popularisation of GIS at the high school level". Tamil versions of the booklets are available on request.
