Much of the research work done at FERAL is concerned with organisms and how they relate to their environment. Ecology is a wide field and our broad areas of interest are:

• Wildlife biology research and conservation.
• Coastal zone management and marine science.
• Invasive species and their impact on natural flora and fauna.
• Landscape ecology.
• Habitat assessments and mapping.

A lot of this work translates directly into out outreach programmes and restoration projects.
